Let’s face it, the iPhone is pretty great. But…why, oh why, can’t my iPhone do the following…
(For my iPad review, click here)
- Why can’t I touch and hold an email and be given a popup menu that offers:
- Find/show all from this person
- Find/show all to this person
- Show all from Subject
- Show all UNOPENED
- Flag for Follow-up
- How about a hard button for switching on multi-tasking and/or one for the camera. Before OS 4.0, my double click was my camera and I still never got to it in time to get the shot.
- Consider a fingerprint scanner as login, directly on the screen?
- What about a screen of Favorites for phone numbers?
- Can’t I touch a time on the calendar to START an entry?
- I’d like to see scroll/swipe up and down as a feature too (Thanks to @crosbyloggins for this one)
I could go on, but if my iPhone had all of these items I would toss my Blackberry (since I carry both) and never consider another device again. All are relatively easy to implement. Am I alone?
P.S. If you need help with any of these devices, my company Make It Work is just a phonecall (877)-625-3489 or click away.

These phones that are more than phones always seem like such cool purchases to me but I always end up not using that last upgrade the first couple of weeks. My computers at home do what I want to do but the phones aren’t quite there yet. Although I hear that same phrase said about smart phones repeated for several years. It’s like your forced to do things their way and their way only.
I don’t know where the software and hardware engineers are getting their feedback on their products, but there is something seriously lacking here. They should be putting in apps where you can send comments back to them directly, no need even for an email address.
Totally agree with the email reader capabilities. Add one more please:
Two finger swipes when in a message to jump to next/previous in the thread.
Cheers,
