A few months back I got an email from a producer of the show Private Chefs of Beverly Hills which will air on the Food Network this month. Her question to me, “We’re looking for a few executives to go ‘Glamping’ with our private chefs who will cook amazing treats for you…interested?” I instantly thought of my Superfriends meetup group and responded, “Sounds fun, we’re in!” We camped, we filmed, we froze and we ate. Then we enjoyed a few adult beverages and cigars from a special island around a raging campfire. Thanks to Sasha Perl-Raver and Brian Hill, our chefs, and the great crew of the PCoBH.

Also wanted to give a shout out to the “other” Eric Greenspan who also appears on the Food Network, albeit more regularly than I. The guy knows his grilled cheese amongst other things. Check out the Foundry on Melrose.

We’re excited to catch the show tonight, Friday April 9th, 10pm, on the FOOD NETWORK.

Here’s a few links on the show and some recent press:

Long time Make It Work customer and Santa Barbara resident Rob Lowe joined Twitter today. His profile is @robloweprofile. I’ve known Rob for years, both as a customer and a fellow parent at local schools. We did a couple of fundraisers together a few years back and our kids went to school together. I spoke [...]

Twitter Spam in Mentions, Replies and DM: Here’s Why YOU Send Them

February 25, 2010

Curious how you get so many spam messages in Twitter? It’s not rocket science. I just got this one: “hi, i’m 24/female/horny… i have to get off here but message me on my windows live messenger name…” You probably did too. I know @mayhemstudios, @marshacollier and @TopBrokerOC did (thanks you three!). So, how does this [...]

Social Networking Addiction Bears Fruit

December 5, 2009

I’ve been engaged with social networking for some time now, starting with Myspace and Facebook and just recently (within the last 30 days), Twitter. I’ve jumped on the bandwagon, big time! I have vanity urls setup at just about every site on the web. I love Namechk.com for this. It’s been an amazing experience so [...]

How I got my mortgage company to lower my payments by $10k/month

November 2, 2009

In October of 2008, I was sitting in front of Quicken about to make my mortgage payment. I looked online at Countrywide’s website and I realized I had added a ton of negatively amortized equity back into my loan over the past few years. This never mattered up until then as the house continued to [...]

October 30, 2009

As promised, today’s blog entry will be about our culture at Make It Work… Make It Work is a very unique company.  Employees first, customers next is one of concepts and I recently learned that Virgin America and Sir Richard Branson share this philosophy.  Nice to know. Simply put, if your employees love their jobs, [...]
